The plot involves the life of Dolly Gallagher Levi: a widow who seems to have all the answers to the problems of the world.
Well, the problems of those around her anyway.

Hide AdDolly’s planning to find a wedding match for brusque merchant, Horace Vandergelder — but unbeknownst to the hapless store owner, Dolly’s designs are really getting him to walk up the aisle with her.
He, meanwhile, is under the impression that the widow is fixing him up with a lady called Irene Molloy.
In amongst all this, a young artist, Ambrose Kemper, has fallen in love with Horace’s niece, Ermengarde. But the successful businessman pours scorn on any union between the two as he doesn’t think an artist is a suitable job to look after his ward.
Ambrose enlists Dolly’s assistance and her quick wits saves the day.

Hide AdThis version of the musical is being staged by the Glasgow Light Opera Club in a new-look production. GLOC will be raising money from the performances for their chosen charity, Music in Hospitals.
