Bid to cull seagull problem in Cumbernauld
Local councillor William Homer has been calling for action to reduce the population of seagulls in this part of Cumbernauld, acting on complaints from constituents, primarily residents of the flats in Glenhove Road.
Councillor Homer said: “I have been able to get the Enviromental Health section to agree to take action on the growing seagull problem.

Hide Ad“For years in Carbrain we have had a growing population which has been a nuisance at the best of times, but during breeding season the birds become aggressive protecting their hatched young.”
But the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds warns that culling will prove an ineffectual waste of money and favours “non-lethal, long-term solutions”.
