Claire (6) is delighted with new set of wheels
Claire Buchanan (6) of Kirkintilloch, suffers from a range of disabilities, including low muscle tone and joint hyper mobility, which means she can’t walk without pain.
Devoted mum Kim set up crowdfunding campaign ‘Claire’s Journey’ just before Christmas in a bid to buy a specialist wheelchair for her little girl.

As well as public donations, Kim organised stalls at the Christmas lights switch-on at Kirkintilloch and a festive fair at Hillhead Church.
Businesses also helped, and Glasgow charity Ceridian Payback Foundation awarded the family a grant of £2,000.
Last week, Claire was presented with her brand new wheelchair, complete with “Frozen” Disney logo from specialist company Vedlink4kids.

Kim said: “People have been so generous.
“The good thing about the wheelchair is it can be adjusted as she grows, so it should last for about the next five years.”
Claire developed problems when she was three-years-old and her condition has baffled doctors.
When she walks, the little girl’s ankles bend and the pain can be unbearable.

On top of her mobility problems, Claire, who attends Merkland School, also has hearing difficulties, speech and language delay, dismorphic facial features and a heart murmur.
Kim added: “This new chair will make such a difference to Claire’s life.
“I really can’t thank everyone enough.”
