Dog attack shock after Cumbernauld pensioner breaks her hip
The nightmare attack unfolded in Whitelees Road at 4.20pm on Wednesday, November 4.
The dog’s owner, who is recovering from a serious operation and has been told not to exert herself, was joined by her mum, as she exercised her pet Jack Russell.

Hide AdBoth women were horrified when an American bulldog sprung forth in the street and grabbed the tiny pet in its mouth and shook it like a rag doll.
The younger woman sustained injuries to her hands as she frantically tried to free the little dog.
However, the bigger dog would not let go of the Jack Russell.
The older woman did her best to help but fell and hurt herself in the process.

Hide AdThe lady is still in Monklands Hospital being treated for a serious fracture.
The bulldog’s owner briefly appeared and pulled her dog away.
Meanwhile a jogger and horrified neighbours to come to the aid of the two ladies after their horrific ordeal.
The smaller dog had to be taken to the vet but injuries to its face and neck are fortunately less serious than was initially expected.
A Police spokesman has confirmed that a female from Abronhill had been arrested after allegedly failing to keep her dog under control.
A report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.
