Major town centre plans to be decided on

Supermarket giants Morrisons appealed a council decision to refuse planning consent for a new store, petrol station and long stay car park.
They want to build the development on the former Bishopbriggs High School.

Hide AdA reporter from the Scottish Government Directorate of Planning and Environmental Appeals will be conducting a site inspection before making a decision.
This is expected to be made within the next week.
The plans have sparked opposition among many residents in Bishopbriggs. A group of even came up with their own masterplan for the area.
However, some are in favour of Morrisons plans.
Earlier this year, Bishopbriggs Community Council called for the appeal to take the form of a public inquiry.
Dominic Notarangelo, chairman of Bishopbriggs Community Council, said: “Given how crucial this is to the next three decades of Bishopbriggs and the impact it is going to have, a public inquiry would have been better.
