Meet General William Roy - video
General William Roy returned to Carluke this month, some 200 years after his death, to help launch a new heritage project.
That is being run by Clyde and Avon Landscapes Partnership and archaeology experts from Northlight Heritage.
It started with General Roy and his troops looking at Mapping the Past, initially at the monument at the birthplace of the man regarded as the father of the Ordnance Survey, and then at the Roman camp site at Cleghorn.
