Plans for new Glasgow takeaway rejected
Proposals had been put forward by the owner of 197 Springburn Way to turn the former opticians into a hot food takeaway.
However, Glasgow City Council planning officials turned down the plans.

Hide AdThe building has been empty for some time, and the owner said the plans would reduce the number of empty units in the area and also bring more people to the street.
The development would have also created 5-7 new full-time jobs.
However, those arguments were not enough to persuade planning officials, who said the proposals were not in accordance with the development plans.
The rejection notice also stated that it could be ‘harmful to the residential amenity of neighbouring residential properties’.
