Robert Owen Primary pupils send backpacks to Africa
The youngsters are, instead, sending 129 backpacks to their counterparts in deprived areas of that continent as part of the P5/6 Enterprise and Eco Work project.
The idea was for the pupils - with the help of the school staff - to collect useful basic classroom equipment to fill the packs with to send off to countries such as Malawi and Liberia where even a pencil and a ruler is a prized possession for any child attending school.
