Sam helps other to live with debilitating condition

Sam McInnes, from Moodiesburn, was diagnosed with ME, which causes symptoms including exhaustion, muscle weakness and headaches, in 2010.
The 25-year-old wants to spread the word about the Sam and ME Support Group as well as a new yoga class.

Hide AdShe said: “The woman that runs the yoga is quite familiar with long term health conditions. It includes meditation and helps people relax.
“The support group is good for sharing hints and tips. People with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome are also welcome, and friends and family.”
Sam is currently working full-time in a bank, but at one point the condition made her unable to walk.
However, she is learning to live with ME and even carried they Olympic torch when it came to the area last year.

Hide AdSam added: “You have to learn to live with it and find what works for you. We are trying to obtain charity status. “In the long run we want to be able to go out and help people in the community who can’t come to the support group or meetings.
The support group meets on the first Wednesday of every month and the yoga class takes place on the third Wednesday of the month. Both are held in the Pivot Centre in Moodiesburn at 7pm.
