Senior officer's '˜dismay' as fraud cop awaits sentencing
Brown, an Inspector in the BTP, appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court last month and admitted two charges of fraudulently gaining nearly £175,000 while working a second job as a financial advisor. He will learn his fate on August 29.
Deputy Chief Constable Adrian Hanstock said: “Cases like this undermine the commitment of hardworking officers and can undoubtedly lead to a loss of trust in the police.

“We share this dismay and following this admission, we will now accelerate a misconduct hearing, which could not be considered until the court had reached a decision.”
