To clinch the award, the school’s eco committee established a litter pick management system for everyone to participate in.

Clerical assistant Carol Shields told The Extra: “Our journey to success has been due to the whole school sharing a commitment to achieving the same goal – congratulations to everyone for their hard work”.
The eco assessor visiting Tinto primary was particularly impressed by a carbon hand and footprint frieze (pictured), which every pupil in the school helped to make.
