Death of United founder member
Jim passed away last week aged 76, after an illness that had prevented him following United for some months.
Jim was one of United’s first committee members serving as president of the club for several years. In 1969 Jim brought distinction to United when he was appointed Senior Auditor to the Scottish Junior Football Association.

Hide AdJim was also made an Honorary Life Vice President of the Cumbernauld club for his services in various capacities.
On a lighter note Jim, a referee in his younger days, was well known for voicing his opinions of match officials at United’s games.
In recent years Jim was an enthusiastic member of the United Supporters’ Club and, until his last days, always telephoned to get his favourite team’s result. He will be sorely missed by all at Guy’s Meadow.
Jim’s funeral will be at Falkirk Crematorium on Thursday, June 19 at 11am.
